5mm Narrow Hem Foot for Husqvarna Viking | Groups 1–9 | #4118517-45

Make neat, even 5mm narrow hems with a snap-on foot for supported Husqvarna Viking sewing machines. The curved scroll folds the fabric edge as you sew for a tidy, approximately 5mm finished hem. Use it on light- to medium-weight fabrics, including scarves, shirts, napkins, ruffles and curtains.

Why use a narrow hem foot?

• 5mm finished narrow hem: the guide turns the fabric edge into a consistent fold.
• Snap-on attachment: designed for the appropriate Husqvarna Viking presser-foot holder.
• Light and medium fabrics: ideal for shirt hems, napkin edges, scarves and decorative narrow hems.

How to use the 5mm hemmer foot

1. Snap the narrow hem foot onto the compatible presser-foot holder.
2. At the beginning of the hem, press a small double fold to match the tunnel under the foot for approximately the first inch.
3. Place the folded edge beneath the foot and stitch several stitches along the edge.
4. Stop with the needle down, raise the presser foot, and guide the raw fabric edge up into the foot’s scroll.
5. Lower the foot and sew slowly, keeping the edge upright so the guide turns it under. For medium-weight fabrics start with a 2.5–3 mm straight-stitch length; for very lightweight fabrics try approximately 2 mm. Test on a scrap first.
