The Singer Futura Quintet Model 5 fact sheet identifies Class 15J bobbins among its standard accessories. Keep the complete machine name with that specification when shopping; “Futura bobbin” alone is too broad.
Plan sewing and embroidery purchases separately. A presser foot, embroidery hoop and bobbin have different compatibility requirements, even when they are sold for the same machine.
Keep the J in the bobbin class

Manufacturer references: SINGER component-specific kit list; Class 15J packet identification; SINGER manual lookup; keep the Model 5 designation.
Distinguish this bobbin from other Futura references
Singer's bobbin guidance distinguishes Class 15J from Class 15 and Class 66, and separately discusses wind-in-place bobbins associated with other Touch & Sew and Futura machines. Do not transfer that older Futura description to the Futura 5 Quintet.
For a current purchase, confirm the exact reference, specified material, explicit model match and pack quantity. A familiar brand name or similar shape does not establish a substitute. Keep a known-correct bobbin labelled so it is not mixed with supplies for another machine.
The bobbin, bobbin holder and cover are separate components. If you need a repair part, describe the actual missing or damaged item and provide photographs rather than asking only for a “Futura bobbin part.”
Check feet against the exact kit or item
Singer's Sewing Machine Presser Foot Kit (SKU U2-SU5-021) has a component-specific applicability entry for 5 Futura Quintet. Its supported examples include the kit's walking, blind hem, gathering and narrow rolled hem feet. Keep those claims attached to the named kit and its instructions.
A separately sold walking or gathering foot still needs its own exact-item fitment check. Confirm the required holder or adapter and the permitted sewing settings. Do not assume that all pieces in an assortment are supported because one included component names your machine.
Choose a foot for a specific task: guiding a hem, gathering fabric or managing layers. Once a supported item is identified, read its setup instructions and test it on a sample of the project fabric. Stop and recheck the fitting if the needle contacts a foot or plate.
Treat embroidery accessories as a separate system
For a hoop, check the complete model, hoop reference, attachment arrangement and the machine's permitted embroidery setup. A similar shape or advertised stitching area does not establish that a hoop will attach or operate correctly.
Keep software and connection questions separate from physical accessory fit. Identify the exact software edition and current computer setup before buying software or connection equipment. A physical foot or hoop match does not answer those questions.
Needles and preparation
Use the needle system specified in the machine instructions and select a type and size suited to the fabric and thread. Follow the appropriate sewing or embroidery setup, including the correct foot and any required supporting equipment. Do not transfer instructions from another Futura generation.
Before placing an order, inventory the accessories you already have and note their references. Check whether the offer includes the foot alone, a holder, a guide or a complete kit. Keeping those pieces and instructions together makes later replacement much easier.
For help checking a particular item, contact Sewlume with the full Futura 5 Quintet designation, the accessory reference and photographs of the existing fitting.
Choose the next check
compare bobbin classes and shapes; distinguish the bobbin from its case or holder; read the needle system and size separately.
