Husqvarna Viking compatibility starts with the numbered group
Husqvarna Viking assigns machine models to numbered accessory groups. Find the exact machine first, then check the number and conditions on the accessory itself. Similar names, a shared snap-on mount or a matching technique do not replace that second check.
The main chart below uses the current North American official Find Your Machine Type tool, checked October 16, 2026. The older German catalog has a few differences, explained separately so the two editions are not silently combined.
Current Husqvarna Viking machine group chart
The current finder lists groups 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. It has no separate Group 4 option. The labels below follow that finder’s model listings.

Why an older chart may show a different group
The German 2025 accessories catalog is also manufacturer evidence, but it is a different source edition. Preserve the distinction when reading an older accessory package or manual.

These are source-edition differences, not a declaration that Groups 3 and 4 are interchangeable. A missing model is not proof that an accessory is incompatible or discontinued. If your machine or packaging follows the older chart, ask Husqvarna Viking to confirm the exact accessory reference against that machine and edition.
A practical four-step compatibility check
- Record the exact machine name, including DESIGNER, EPIC, QUILT, number and suffix where present.
- Look it up in the current regional finder or the manufacturer catalog supplied with your accessory.
- Check the exact foot or accessory reference and its supported groups. Keep any model exclusions, holder requirements and operating restrictions.
- Use the machine manual and accessory instructions to confirm installation, stitch and needle-position settings.
Model names that deserve a second look
Keep PLATINUM Plus 775 distinct from PLATINUM 770 and the other PLATINUM models; the current finder applies “Plus” to 775. EMERALD 122, 118 and 116 appear in Group 5, while EMERALD 203 and 183 appear in Group 6. A family name alone is therefore too broad to select the group.
The chart also preserves the finder’s compound label 225/215. If that is the entry you rely on, compare your machine’s literal label and documentation rather than guessing a new model name.
Husqvarna Viking compatibility FAQ
Are all snap-on Viking feet interchangeable?
No. The mount is only one requirement. Use the accessory’s own group approval and any machine-specific conditions.
Does Group 9 automatically mean every EPIC accessory fits?
No. The exact reference and its supported model or group list still control the choice.
Can I use these groups to pick bobbins or needles?
Only if the exact manufacturer accessory listing expressly uses those groups for that item. Otherwise, use the model manual and the exact reference or needle system.
