Use it for buttonholes on a very small piece of fabric or close to a reinforced edge, where the large Sensormatic buttonhole foot may not feed well
Back fabrics that shift or stretch with a water-soluble, tissue paper or other lightweight stabilizer
A gimp thread inside the buttonhole makes it firmer and longer lasting
